A House Wanting to Come Home

The Earthen Forming System is an integral building approach for Housing and Ecologically Conscious Communities that encompasses spirituality, healing, energy efficiency, and community-building in sustainable and affordable ways. Dr Dani Mouawad’s ground-breaking and carefully-engineered approach uses methodologies compatible with current local building codes and is highly responsive to our housing challenges.

Witnessing the negative health impacts on children stemming from contaminated environments and decaying, toxic housing in rural Southwest Louisiana, Dr Dani Mouawad (local holistic Pediatrician and President & Founder of Ecoheal, Inc.) felt compelled to bring changes that address, in an affordable way, the environmental and health challenges of our times. Over the last 8 years, Dani has developed and refined multiple building techniques executed mostly in the Chapel Hill area. The first was the residential model, featured in the Green Builders Magazine, the second (Meditative Hut) gave birth to the first Earthen Forming System, which was utilized to build The Ecoheal Center, which is the first Earthen Commercial Building approved by Code Officials in the nation.
